Offshore Accident, Workers Fall from an Oil Rig in Tamaulipas Mexico

Arenque Platform File PhotoTwo workers with multiple fractures and one more deceased left an accident on an oil platform in the Arenque block, located about 30 kilometres off the coast of southern Tamaulipas.

The Mexican Red Cross confirmed the attention of two workers who arrived at noon on Tuesday at the dock of the Commsa company located in the Arbol Grande neighbourhood of Ciudad Madero.

Everything indicates that they came from the Arenque platform that is operated by the Petrofac company, which were taken to an emergency hospital in Tampico, presenting bills in the lower extremities.

So far, the company that operates the platform, located in the Gulf of Mexico, has not issued any information on the matter, even though it speaks of a person who died in this accident.

Pemex announced that the platform is not operated by personnel of the production company of the state since it is under concession to Petrofac SA de CV, so it did not have information on the incident registered this Tuesday.
