Rig Moves...
Some of the toughest work in roughnecking is "Rig Move". Hands(Roughnecks) from often several crews show up at daybreak and begin dismantling the rig at a hurried pace.Time is money in the oilfield & money is the difference in having another hole to drill or getting "Stacked" in the grass. This video is preparing a rig derrick to lay down and split into sections,but first the derrickhand has to prepare the derrick,securing loose cables and "bridling up". Here is a short video of a derrickman preparing a derrick on a windy day in Western Oklahoma.
